Custom Music for Build or Break
Custom music album for Build or Break, hosted by KIND founder and Shark Tank investor Daniel Lubetzky.
Music for: excitement, challenges, and conversation
The Challenge
Build or Break explores the moments when successful people find themselves at a crossroads, when something they've built is challenged, fails, or nearly breaks. The series needed a musical identity that could carry that tension while still feeling optimistic, energetic, and forward-moving.
The goal wasn't simply to create a podcast theme. The music needed to establish a recognizable world for the series and give the editors enough flexibility to shape that identity across episodes, promos, and different formats.
The Approach
The musical direction began with an idea at the heart of Daniel Lubetzky's philosophy: "and."
KIND was built around the idea that two seemingly opposing qualities can exist together — healthy and tasty, economically sustainable and socially impactful. I wanted the music for Build or Break to work the same way.
The album combines elements that don't traditionally live together: orchestral textures with unusual percussion, a Mexican-inspired trumpet solo with hip-hop-influenced rhythms, and cinematic instrumentation with the energy of contemporary production music.
Rather than creating one theme and a collection of unrelated cues, I developed a cohesive musical world that could move between intensity, momentum, reflection, and optimism.

The Client Perspective
“Working with Amos turned into my favorite part of the day! Edit/Score has truly become part of my process”
- Joel Rubin / EVP of Programming
Outcome
The result was a cohesive original music identity for Build or Break that could grow beyond a single theme.
The custom album gave the production team a recognizable musical language for the series while providing the flexibility to adapt the music across episodes, promos, and different lengths of content.
